Low-voltage cable is composed of three parts: Wire core, insulating layer and protective layer. The core is used to conduct electric current and is usually made of stranded copper or aluminum wires. Low-voltage cable has single-core, double-core, three-core, four-core and so on. Two-core cable is used for single-phase line, three-core and four-core cable are used for three-phase three-wire line and three-phase four-wire line respectively. Low voltage cables can be produced by using ordinary PVC and XLPE. Low voltage cables can be distinguished from ordinary cables by crosslinking. Medium and high voltage cables are not all XLPE cables. 6kv-35kv cables are produced by three-layer coextrusion and high-density XLPE cables.
XLPE cable for short. It is the use of chemical or physical methods to make the cable insulation material polyethylene plastic molecules from linear structure into three-dimensional network structure, that is, the original thermoplastic polyethylene into thermosetting cross-linked polyethylene plastic, so as to greatly improve the heat resistance and service life of the cable, still maintain its excellent electrical performance.
